Day 4 (25 APR 2011) - 3 Pagoda Pass (Thai- Burmese Border)

We woke up to dark skies and gusty winds. Before we knew it, it was storming. What a way to start our day. Nonetheless we were determined to reach the Thai, - Myanmar border. So we put on our rain gear, and off we went!

Superwet day. bikes skidded a few times, but thankfully nothing happened..its like riding on ice.

GS the best bike on the twisty mountain roads. seriously.

We rode and rode and rode till we saw 3 not very large white pieces of stone. The 3 Pagodas? hmmmm.... we rode so far for this??

The Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum. During WW2 the POWs were made to build this pass through the mountain range with only shovels and adze. At night, the railway was littered with light from the kerosene lanterns giving an eerie image of a passage to Hell. Hence the name "Hellfire Pass"

Inside the museum.

Good food, good bikes, good friends.

What more can we ask for.
